Laura Harrison, MA
Laura Harrison is a Research and Assessment Specialist for the Safe Streets and Second Chances Initiative in Florida. Harrison has worked as a researcher in North Carolina, Florida and abroad; often focusing on identifying and classifying human rights abuses. As a graduate student she reported on the ongoing abuses and genocide in Myanmar. During this time she also worked locally as a monitoring and evaluation specialist, developing partnerships and evaluating programs for low income residents living in a public housing complex.
Harrison holds dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Psychology and Sociology from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina and a Masters of Arts degree in Public Sociology and Criminology, specializing in policy analysis, from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
