Coty Murphy, BS
My interest in the criminal justice systems stems from witnessing the negative impact it has had on the lives of my family, friends, and clients. The injustices that people are facing as they enter the criminal justice system and upon release are debilitating, not only to individuals but to entire families and communities. As I move forward with my career, I hope to reduce barriers that people face in the criminal justice system to accessing effective legal counsel, fair sentencing practices and re-integration after release.
I am excited to work alongside IJRD because the organization is dedicated to making a change in very meaningful and intentional ways. IJRD understands the intersectional issues facing those in the criminal justice system and the research will serve as an educational and groundbreaking tool. I welcome the opportunity to advocate for those involved with the system and I am excited to join such a great team.
