Jennifer Garbin, MSW
Jennifer Garbin is a Project Support Specialist on our Columbus, Ohio team. Prior to joining IJRD, she provided case management and street outreach services for survivors of human trafficking through the Salvation Army’s Anti-Human Trafficking Department. Garbin also led weekly Dialectical Behavioral Therapy groups for women incarcerated in the Delaware County Jail. During her graduate education, Garbin completed an internship at the City of Columbus in the Office of Mayor Andrew J. Ginther. In this role, she participated directly in the awarding of competitive grant funding, developed educational material on the concept of Cultural Humility, advocated for survivors of Intimate Partner Violence with the Mayor’s Chief Policy Advisor, and served as the City Representative on two of the Columbus Community Safety Advisory Commission subcommittees.
Garbin holds Bachelor and Master of Social Work degrees, both from the Ohio State University. She completed the clinical track of the Master of Social Work degree with an emphasis on Substance Abuse and Mental Health.
