Mariah Johnson, MSW
Mariah Johnson joins us as a Post-Master's Fellow on our South Carolina team. Johnson brings a wealth of experience working with local governments to research, market, design, and develop affordable housing options for people experiencing homelessness. She also engaged with children in school settings, helping them to overcome barriers in their lives, both at home and at school. Johnson aspires to develop a compassionate and comprehensive understanding of how the multi-faceted systems affect individual, family, and community choice. She seeks to redress problematic or dysfunctional systems using research, cooperative teamwork, and community action to initiate positive changes to improve quality of life for all, but especially for justice-involved individuals.
Johnson holds a Master of Social Work degree from Winthrop University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Anthropology from the College of Charleston’s Honors College.
