Nancy McCarthy, BSW
Nancy McCarthy serves as a consultant for the Safe Streets and Second Chance Initiative and is a member of the S3C Oversight Team. Prior to this, Nancy served as an employee of the Missouri Department of Corrections, Board of Probation and Parole for thirty-three years. During her tenure, Nancy worked in a number of positions to include Probation and Parole Officer, Unit Supervisor, and District Administrator overseeing the community corrections programs. McCarthy assisted with the implementation of post-incarceration treatment programs for both men and women in addition to managing the residential facilities within the St. Louis Metropolitan area. In 2004, she was promoted to the Regional Administrator for the St. Louis Metropolitan area which consisted of 11 Probation and Parole Offices. McCarthy served as the Department co-chair for the Cognitive Restructuring team, Divisional Chair for the Continuous Quality Improvement Committee and Divisional Chair for the Gang Committee. Further, she has served as the chair for the St. Louis Alliance for Reentry (STAR) since its inception in 2006. STAR is comprised of academic, community and government leaders who are dedicated to promoting practices and partnerships that enhance justice-involved individuals self-sufficiency.
McCarthy holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from St. Louis University.
