Oceo Harris, MSW
Oceo Harris is the Founder and President of the O.C.E.O Foundation, a non-profit organziation developed to address issues related to “returning citizens” – those individuals releasing from prison and coming home. As a returning citizen himself, Harris faced homelessness, substance abuse, joblessness, and institutional systemic barriers. Harris grew up in Tallahassee, Florida and dropped out of school in the 10th grade. Years later, he was convicted on felony drug charges and served 10 years in federal prison. However, instead of viewing his life experience as damaging and limiting to his abilities, Harris sought to turn his experiences and accomplishments into counseling, mentoring, advocacy and education to help empower other “returning citizens” as they reentered the community as well as other vulnerable populations who are challenged by lack of guidance. Harris has dedicated his career and his free time to giving back to the community.
Harris holds a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Florida Agriculture and Mechanical University and a Master of Social Work degree from Florida State University. Harris is also a Registered Clinical Social Work Intern (#ISW9299).
