Suntia Smith, LISW-CP
Suntia Smith joins IJRD as a Clinical Research Associate on our South Carolina team. In this role, she provides fidelity monitoring to our Reentry Program Specialists to ensure the intervention(s) are administered effectively. Smith was drawn to this work because she wants to help formerly incarcerated individuals heal their relationships with their children and families and thrive in the community. Prior to joining IJRD, Smith created community programs for teen parents and facilitated college enrollment-programs among low-income families with the Urban League. She also worked with people experiencing homelessness and mental health crises with the Greenville Hospital System. Smith is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who runs her own private practice; she specializes in relationships and trauma work and works with both individuals and couples. In addition to seeing clients, Smith also provides clinical supervision to LMSW's seeking to obtain LISW licensure.
Smith holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Social Work dgree, both from the University of South Carolina. She also holds clinical licensure in South Carolina
