I have worked in nonprofit, faith-based organizations as an educator and advocate for children and youth for the past 19 years. One of my core beliefs is that the more we educate ourselves and others about the world around us, our informed selves will seek to make decisions for the betterment of all. Research can influence our perspective and foster individual to global-level changes. My passion for working with IJRD brings me, in the words of Fredrick Buchner, to "where my deepest hunger meets the world’s greatest need.”

IJRD provides me the opportunity to work at the intersection of advocacy, research, and education to enact policy and practice reforms across the criminal justice system. I joined IJRD to journey alongside those who have not had a voice or advocate, and to help them reclaim it within the process of working together, through research and reform.
