Shelby Pederson is a Graduate Research Assistant for the Institute for Justice Research and Development. Pederson is currently engaged in doctoral work at the College of Social Work at the Florida State University. Pederson began with IJRD as a Research Technician in 2018 when she was completing a dual Master's program in both Social Work and Criminology. She graduated with both Master of Social Work and Master of Criminology degrees from the Florida State University in May 2019.

Pederson holds a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Minot State University in North Dakota and a Master of Social Work degree from the Florida State University. She begins doctoral work at the College of Social Work in August 2019.
