Contact Information
My name is Katy Leipheimer, and I am a graduate student in my final semester in a dual degree program pursuing a Master of Social Work and Master of Science in Criminology & Criminal Justice at FSU. I graduated from The Ohio State University in 2023 with a Bachelor of Social Work with a minor in Criminology & Criminal Justice. I have experience in case management in a nonprofit foster care agency and policy advocacy for suicide prevention. I have worked closely with active service and veteran communities, and I was the Chairman of the first two Out of the Darkness Walks in collaboration with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention in 2019 and 2020. I am very passionate about minimizing the reliance on the criminal justice system, so I am very excited to work with the IJRD team. Further, I am interested in pursuing a career working in reentry, mitigation social work, and capital punishment reform.
